Y7 Settlement Project
Students are to complete their project. Attached is a sheet with all that needs to be covered. It can be presented in a Word document (no Powerpoint, and font no bigger than 14) or hand-written. 3 sides minimum is the expectation, excluding diagrams, pictures, sketches.
Printing can be done at school – work can be emailed to me at school, on: firstname.lastname@example.org
All students know what to do and how to complete it – we’ve gone over it in class. They can come up to my room any lunchtime to work on it, use the Internet, etc, except Mondays (due to Y11 revision)
Students are to write an interview with a gladiator. This means they write the questions asked, then the response a gladiator would give. They have a summary of information and some students also have a help sheet. All students have seen a video on Roman gladiators and we have spent time in class discussing how to write this interview.
Students are to complete the cloze passage booklet on Roman society
students are to complete a 5-day diary entry for a Roman soldier based at Hadrian’s Wall
Students are to revise from their exercise books everything covered on Map skills, including scale, direction, map symbols, contours, etc
Students are to complete their Wanted – Roman soldier poster, which is getting them to use persuasive language about life as a Roman soldier.
Many students have taken picture of the textbook and a plan on the board.
Students are welcome any lunchtime to work on their poster, borrow textbooks, use felts
Students are to write a paragraph about what happened during their History lesson p2 Monday 12th.
There is a reason for this that will be revealed on Wednesday – which is normally a Geography lesson, but I want the homework to have a quick turnaround.
It is also nothing to do with any issues!
Complete the writing exercises in your JOTTER. We have stuck instructions into your jotter, but here they are below :
||In your JOTTER . Write out 2 sentences for each picture, describing the person’s brothers and sisters. Come to see Mr Mills in room 03 if you get stuck.
||In your JOTTER – Use the vocab to write two sentences about your own brothers and sisters. Make use of extra vocab such as “demi-frère” etc. if necessary.
||In your JOTTER – choose a famous person and describe his brothers and sisters. Instead of “j’ai” (I have) use “il a” (he has) or “elle a” (she has).
